Tuakana Teina

When we help each other learn new skills, we are also helping ourselves learn.  Explaining a new concept to someone else makes us think hard and helps us to remember the new knowledge.  Sharing our skills with each other is called Tuakana Teina.  It feels good to help others!

Is Gaming A Sport?

 Is Gaming A Sport?

By Mace McCarron

In the following paragraphs I will convince you that gaming is a sport.  I will tell you about how gaming involves competition, skill and rules.

Gaming is a sport because gaming is competitive.  For example, gaming takes place in stadiums, there are esports world cups like the Fortnite World Cup. Budha (Fortnite name), won three million US dollars for winning  a Fortnite game.

Some games also involve lots of skill, you need great hand-eye coordination if you’re on a PC (computer) and on console (X-Box, PS4, PS5).  In most games you have to complete various levels, but every time you complete a level, they get harder.  Gaming also involves lots of practice and exercises.

Many games have heaps of rules like Minecraft, Roblox, Fortnite and Call of Duty.  In Minecraft you can get something called hacks, hacks are things in servers like bedwars and sky wars.  Hacks allow you to fly, be invincible, and allow you to do heaps of attack damage.  These things are also in Call of Duty and Fortnite.

I have told you about how gaming involves lots of competition, skill and many different rules.  Gaming should definitely be considered a sport.
